Social Media and Mormon Moms (LDS Church)

I'm writing first to thank you all for the good that you are doing online.  Many positive and wholesome things are shared by wonderful LDS women across the globe - to bless, strengthen and uplift.  Even if you don't realize it ...you are making a difference!

I recently attended a seminar taught by one of the main social media experts at LDS.org.  He reminded that if we can each fill our sites with wholesome and positive information - then...all those words, articles, links etc. will be indexed by google and more of a difference will be made.

So....may I encourage you to continue the good you are doing by also adding a few quotes to your blogs?  You can link to other positive sites, share others' good messages, google+ your words and....or join with us on Facebook at MormonMoms or on google+ at MormonMoms.

Thank you, in advance, for the light and truth that you are sharing with the world.  Each of us CAN make a difference - even if it's only a small one!

Blessings to you all!
Heidi G.

And...if any of you would like to help further in this cause (and...help me out with the work that I'm trying to do) please let me know!  Thanks!

I agree that being a positive influence in technology area can help so much in spreading the gospel. It is important to share uplifting thoughts. Thanks for all you do in this area.

I'm really interested right now in blogging. I love to write as it is and I have been feeling that prick that I'm to do something good for others through blogging, whether it's to share the gospel or to inspire someone who already has it.

You came to my site not long ago and made a comment, (thanks, I love comments!) the post was about Hannah and my mom if that jogs your memory. That actual post was in a result of inspiration I had regarding a facebook friend I almost deleted - the actual story of why I wrote it doesn't matter so much. I'm not sure why me, but Heavenly Father wants me to blog. Maybe there's someone I'm supposed to reach, maybe it's for my own growth.

I would like to figure out how to generate a bigger audience, how to make my blog more inviting etc. I'm definitely interested in furthering this cause (and what ever you are striving to do).

Thank you, Trina. I am grateful that so many are willing to do what they feel to do in regards to online media and sharing their lives with others'. I believe that we can strengthen each other through these tools as well as share ideas, insights, and helps.
There are a few things you can do to further your audience. Connect your blog to your Facebook page so each time you post it's also posted on FB. Twitter can help you share your messages and is easy to learn to do. Google+ is a new powerful tool and can share your message quickly.
It takes some time to build up and...we all learn as we go.
If you'll make real comments on others' blogs, others' can find you that way.
And....the more you post to your site and have others' link to your site (and you can link to them) the better your chances of being indexed by google and seen as a viable site.
Also, FILL your blog with great content. Each entry will build your library of information. The more info. you have on there the more people can find what they are looking for.
Your post headers are also important. Do strong ones using the strongest words first. (google picks them up first)
Make sure you also put those same words in the first few sentences of your post.
Hope these things will be of help. There are many things you'll learn along the way. Social media is about connecting with others. Get added to more lists, join FB groups you like and do things you feel to do.
Good luck! You can make a difference.
