Preparing for the Second Coming

Many of us have been preparing for The Second Coming of Christ.  We know not the exact hour but we do see the signs and are aware of the global changes in the world.  Part of being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - is in doing good to all men and helping them prepare as well.
Several years ago I started a blog called All About Preparedness.  I felt to list quotes from the brethren concerning our day and the ways in which we've been instructed to prepare.  These were teachings that I had known from my youth - but...I knew that there were others' who hadn't heard or studied these same prophecies.  I felt to share the voice of warning.

Later, I was called to be the ward Preparedness Specialist in a ward with a majority of single-adults, young married couples and young families.  After much prayer and consideration, I felt that the most-important thing I could do would be to share true principles and let them govern themselves.  I wasn't too surprised at the lack of preparation of these church members.  But, I was saddened by their seeming absence of concern about the warnings of Prophets.

New from the Mormon Channel; "Everything Creative".

"Everything Creative explores creativity through interviews with artists and creative people of all types. Many episodes are unique in that the interviewee from a previous episode becomes the interviewer of another creative artist."

Make Your Home a "General Store"

This is a GREAT article by Carolyn Nicolaysen - written for Meridian Magazine.  She shares some powerful ideas for safety in these latter-days.  For years we've been taught to prepare.  I've posted many of those preparedness teachings from Prophets HERE.

 Enjoy Sister Nicolaysen's article:
"Down through the ages, prophets have called us to action – to prepare ourselves and our families both spiritually and temporally for tests and opposition. While Noah called the world to repent, he and his family followed God’s command to build an Ark. And Joseph with his coat of many colors was first betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery, then became a ruler of Egypt - eventually ruling over his brothers, and saving their families temporally through his provident leadership. We learn from the Book of Mormon: "But behold, this was an advantage to the Nephites; for it was impossible for the robbers to lay siege sufficiently long to have any effect upon the Nephites, because of their much provisions which they had laid up in store." (3 Nephi 4:1)

Passing of my Uncle Nathan - Anderson

It's been an interesting 'irony' that death and resurrection have been the tender topic of pondering this past weekend.  Early Sunday, Easter morning, my sweet Uncle Nathan slipped through the veil and to the other side where he was, I'm sure, greeted by many loved ones who have been anticipating his arrival.  I can only imagine their joyful reunion - whilst at the same time mourning the loss from our side.

I grew up several hours away from Uncle Nathan and Aunt Eva and didn't often see them.  But with three small children in tow, and needing to be closer to family after a divorce, we moved to Cache Valley, Utah, and into their midst.

10 Tips for Clipping Your Baby's Fingernails

Okay, so this isn't my regular type of posting but...I was asked by the publisher of this article if I would share it with the rest of you.  So....I thought I would.

It's in keeping with the theme of this blog which is Family, Motherhood, Womanhood, Raising Children etc.  But...not something I'd normally post.

Hope you enjoy!  :)
