Building Zion

All things we do for the cause of Zion - will be worth it.  They are the principles of the law of the Celestial Kingdom, including the law of consecration.  We will be blessed more greatly than we can now imagine - as we keep and obey these holy laws.  We would do well to heed this counsel.

"And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself."  Doctrine and Covenants 105:5
(obedient, taught more perfectly, endowed with power from on high, faithful, humble, prayerful)

"For he who is not able to abide the law of a celestial kingdom cannot abide a celestial glory." D&C 88:22

"If thou lovest me thou shalt serve me and keep all my commandments."  D&C 42:29

"And behold, thou wilt remember the poor, and consecrate of they properties for their support that which thou hast to impart unto them, with a covenant and a deed which cannot be broken."  D&C 42:30

"Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in their faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea even to the purifying and sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God."  Helaman 3:35

Importance of our Work in the Home

The 'world' lives contrary to revealed truths.  Aren't you glad to know why we're here and what our most important responsibilities are?  These principles have stood the test of time.  They are important reminders when we need them as well as effective teaching material for the rising generation.

"The most important work you will do for the Church will be within the walls of your own home."  - Harold B. Lee

"I have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth."  - Doctrine and Covenants 93:40

They shall also teach their children to pray, and to walk uprightly before the Lord."  - Doctrine and Covenants 68:28
